GRIFFIN GILMORE
CPGA HEAD TEACHING
PROFESSIONAL/GENERAL MANAGER
Griffin has completed all the teaching requirements and education to make him Class A professional, earning his professional status in 2007. He enjoys teaching all skill levels and makes each individuals learning objective fun and unique.
Griffin joined Green Acres Golf Course in June of 2008. His responsibilities include increasing awareness, improving service levels and creating a image for Green Acres staff, members and guests to make Green Acres a fun place to be.
Griffin got his start at Island View Golf Course and after earning his pro status in 2007 he headed to Parksville, to a golf course called Winchelsea View. Griffin spent time at a few golf courses in the Comox Valley, learning, growing and sharing his expertise. The next stop for Griffin was Green Acres Golf Course. He also started at Henderson Par 3 in Oak Bay, teaching clinics, adult classes and junior lessons. Griffin found that teaching the juniors was fast becoming a passion of his. In 2012, he added Ardmore Golf Course, starting as Assistant Golf Professional. He started a junior program, building it to over 10 regular students each week and building a strong lesson program forArdmore’s members and guests. In 2013, Griffin became Director of Golf at Ardmore, teaching private lessons, clinics and all the lessons through Panorama Recreation Centre. He was also a great help with tournaments and many other aspects around the course.
In October of 2014, he got his Class A status and is excited to return to Green Acres as the Head Teaching Professional. He wants to make Green Acres a great place to have a game, to learn and perfect your technique and to bring your family – all at a reasonable cost.
